You are exhausted.
Because lately you have been spending a truckload of time on your online business…
…but you have nothing to show for.
Compared to last month…
you DON´T have more traffic…
you DON´T have more email subscribers…
you DON´T have more income.
To be quite honest, you would probably have the exact same results if you had spent the time lying on your coach in your underwear eating pizza, drinking beer and watching a mediocre sitcom on Netflix.
But what´s even worse…
is that you feel like a total failure.
Sounds familiar?
No worries, I´ve been there too.
Relax. I got your back.
I will reveal the best business productivity hack I know that can instantly save you 28 hours per month (seriously).
But first, let´s take a look at what it normally takes to become more productive….
The Extremely Boring Process Of Becoming More Productive
Yes, you read correct.
When you are going to become more productive, you usually have to change your existing habits, and this means that…
you need to push yourself way out of your comfort zone…
that it will take a freakin´ long time to implement…
and it´s usually really boring…
and you are always thinking “what could I accomplish if I spent all this time doing something else?”
Take it easy, I am not going to ask you to do something crazy.
There is NO NEED for you to travel to Tibet and climb the fourth highest mountain just wearing orange underwear and a box of toothpicks in your mouth. And when you finally arrive at the top, if you survive, you will see a temple appear behind the mist. An old wise monk will appear and he will only give you the world´s best productivity secret if you give him your…
…NO not your underwear! (That would have been really kinky, right?)
…Your box of toothpicks. (See. This blog post is friendly for the kids.)
Want to know something really cool?
My best productivity tip can be implemented in an instant.
But before we get to that, let´s take a look at some of the biggest time sucks for your online business…
The Real Reason Why You Are NOT Having The Success You Want
As an online entrepreneur you are wearing many hats.
Nah, who are we kidding?
You are probably wearing ALL the hats.
Because NOT ONLY are you the CEO of your business, you are also…
the financial manager (accounting, taxes, etc.)…
the content manager (writing, scheduling and publishing content on your blog)…
the product manager (creating digital products)…
the conversion expert (optimizing the conversion rate on your high traffic posts / pages)…
the copywriter (creating landing pages)…
the funnel expert (creating an email funnel that actually makes sales)…
the SEO expert…
the marketing manager (creating marketing strategy for your freebies and products)…
the social media manager…
the outreach manager…
the gatekeeper (almost drowning in your inbox)…
That was 12 different positions! And you could probably mention a gazillion more, right?
And we haven´t even started mentioning the technical expertise that you need in your online business.
In order to become successful with your business, it´s important that you play on your strengths.
Only when you are focusing on your most important tasks, are you able to get the most out of your 24 hours.
The only difference between you and very successful entrepreneurs is how you have spent your time.
Don´t take my word for it, but you should at least…
Listen To The Golden Advice From A Billionaire
The Norwegian billionaire Johan H. Andresen jr. was interviewed on television, and he was asked the question: “What is your secret to building successful businesses?”
He replied: “I hire people who are smarter and more competent than me to run my business”.
In other words, he didn´t try to play the hero entrepreneur doing everything himself.
And we all know that the so-called hero entrepreneurs are either getting burned out, failing or they are limiting their potential by not being able to leverage their time.
How many successful people have you ever heard say the following when being interviewed: “I thank myself for all this success. And I´m proud of that I didn´t ask for any help. I liked to do it alone, and see…I made it” ?
NO ONE.
And there is a reason.
You have to focus on your most income generating tasks for your business. The tasks that you are the best at doing.
What should you do with the remaining tasks?
One word.
Outsource.
I am perceived by my peers to be a very productive online entrepreneur. And when I thanks to having a blogger outreach strategy managed to get featured on 85 blogs and get 3000+ email subscribers in my first year of blogging, people took notice.
And many have been wondering how I really did that.
Of course mastering your blogger outreach skills and creating great content is key.
But hey! You don´t need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure that out.
But there is one more factor.
And I am embarrassed to say it.
Because revealing this…
Makes Me Almost Feel Like I Am Cheating
Yeah, you read correct.
Okay, listen. I haven´t been running my blog by myself.
You are probably thinking “What the heck, Tor. Have you been playing me for a fool all this time?”
Relax and take deep breath. It´s not like that.
Just to make something perfectly clear.
No, I don´t have a family of limping, drooling, hunchbacked gnomes living in my closet, who are writing my blog posts.
Note to self: that might actually be a good idea, though. Too bad that I didn´t manage to capture that sweet family of gnomes when I was out polar bear riding last month. They seemed to be mastering some awesome blog writing skills.
The thing is that when I started blogging, I did a lot of crazy activities.
Let me rephrase that.
I did a lot of crazy stupid activities.
And that was the techie aspect of my blog.
Like spending countless of hours googling (and researching):
“How to learn HTML code”.
“How to learn CSS code”.
“How to learn Javascript code”.
I don´t even dare to think about how many hours I wasted in the start by playing the hero entrepreneur (yeah, I shamefully admit my mistake).
And where did it get me?
NOWHERE.
In addition, I spent a lot of time googling framework, themes and hundreds of different plugins for my WordPress site.
Not to mention all the insane googling on checking the compatibility between each component.
Then something happened…
My googling started to become more aggressive.
I turned to Google searching for keywords like:
Then it evolved into something even more dangerous…
I realized that I needed to take a step back and unwind.
I understood that this was NOT going to fly anymore.
The conclusion?
I had to pull my sh*t together.
Since I really disliked doing the techie stuff, and it…
sucked the life energy out of me, I decided that I needed help.
Here´s my saviour and…
My Secret Weapon – Brandon from WP Radius
Seriously, Brandon, you saved my life (literally).
He looks like nice and trustworthy guy, right?
A person you would trust to care of your little baby 24/7 (yes, I am talking about your blog, so don´t send Brandon your babies.)
Brandon and his great team at WP Radius are handling all the technical stuff for me.
They are customizing my theme, adjusting CSS code, HTML code and Javascript code, doing backups, plugin updates, monitoring my site 24/7.
*Yawn* Yeah, I know. The sentence above was really boring.
Just reading the sentence almost made me fall asleep. I am SO glad that I don´t need to do those boring tasks anymore.
And the best part?
If I have any questions regarding new plugins, I just send Brandon an email.
In addition, if I need something tweaked on my website.
What do I do?
Let´s say it together…
“Send Brandon an email”.
Want to hear something crazy banana?
They do unlimited WordPress changes for $67 per month.
Yes, you read correct.
Note: Each WP change has to take under 30 minutes to solve, but they are very effective.
What Brandon can do in about 30 minutes, will probably take me about 1,5 hours doing (if I know how to do it, though).
So how much time am I saving per week?
I used to spend an average of 1,5 hour per workday on either researching, learning or implementing changes in WordPress.
That is 7,5 hours per week. Let´s say that I spend 0,5 hours per week sending emails to Brandon.
That makes me save 7 effective hours per week.
If we say that a month has 4 weeks (just to make it simple), 7×4 = 28.
Yes, I will effectively save 28 hours per week!
Time to crack some numbers.
Let´s say that you go for the $97 per month package, like me (which also includes plugin updates, backup and security service):
$97/28 hours = $3,46 per hour.
If you spend 28 hours on tech stuff for your website per month, you are actually valuing your hourly wage to be $3,46 per hour!
That is INSANE.
I don´t know about you, but I would rather spend my time on the activities for my business that I am the best at doing, like coaching, writing content, creating products and blogger outreach.
I charge $200 for a 60 minutes coaching session, so it´s a no-brainer.
Yeah, there you have it. It´s my secret.
That is how I managed to get featured on 85 blogs and get 3000+ email subscribers in my first year of blogging, because I outsourced the things I wasn´t the best at doing.
But more importantly, the tech stuff drained my energy.
Now, I am able to only do things I am good at and that I love to do.
If you want to get Brandon at WP Radius to do all the tech stuff and save you about 28 hours per month, so you can focus on growing your business, click the button below.
Note: I only recommend products / services that I am using myself and that are top-notch. Yes, this is an affiliate link. When you buy using this link, I will get a small commission, but at no extra cost to you. And I am really grateful.
Bonus: When you buy from this link, I will give you a cool bonus valued at $97 – my Awesome Bug Fix Process, which is the issue tracking process I created when I worked for one of the biggest companies in Norway managing their SAP solution (IT-system). It will probably save you 2 hours more per week. Just send me an email with the receipt, and I´ll send you the bonus.
They say that in order to succeed. You need to find someone who really kicks *ss at what they are doing, and then model them. When successful people who I look up to are outsourcing their tech stuff, I know that I´m on the right track.
And here they are, my source of inspiration…

Don Purdum says
Hi Tor,
The principles you outlined are timeless truths that we all must embrace if we are going to achieve success.
No one is a “do it all” superstar.
I know my strengths, weaknesses and limitations and I embrace them all fully.
I avoid working in my weaknesses or even trying to improve them. I wish I could remember where I heard it, but some once said to me don’t even bother trying to make your weaknesses stronger… It will be minimal and the effort wasted could be used working in your strengths and helping you double your business.
He was so right!!!!
Great post Tor and I really appreciate you mentioning so many good friends in your post.
Have a great week; and congratulations on your success over the last year. It’s well earned.
~ Don Purdum
Tor Refsland says
Hey Don,
great to see you here my friend.
Thanks a lot for your great comment.
Yes, the words of wisdom you mention certainly do sound familiar “I avoid working in my weaknesses or even trying to improve them”.
That is so smart.
If you are an artist and you are the best at creating paintings, what do you need to do?
Paint, paint and paint.
You can hire people to sell the stuff for you, do the logistics, and to do your accounting.
As long as you can work on the tasks that you are the best at doing, and outsource the rest. You can literally outwork the rest 😉
It´s like you are doing 100 meters sprint. You are running as fast as you can, while your competitors are running backwards.
It doesn´t seem fair. But, no one is forcing them to run backwards.
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Don. I always blush when I get compliments from people who I admire.
You totally kicked *ss last year, my friend.
Cheers to us crushing 2016 together 🙂

Adrienne says
Hey Tor,
I’m glad you found Brandon and he’s saving you a lot of time with your blog.
I appreciate you listing me but I am one that still does my own tech stuff so you can whip me with that wet noodle if you want to. The thing is, it doesn’t take me hours to do things like I suppose it does other people because I’ve been doing my own stuff for so long that I know exactly what to do.
I also back up my own blog every single night so while I’m closing other things down for the night it’s running in the background which literally takes me a total of 5 minutes. I don’t trust plugins for that.
I appreciate the mention as someone you look up to, always brings a smile to my face.
Thanks Tor, you are the man who is known for saving time! 😉
~Adrienne
Tor Refsland says
Thanks a lot for commenting, Adrienne.
Nah, no need for lashing my favourite engagement superstar 😉
You have specific routines in place and you are good at the techie stuff.
It all comes down to one 3 things:
1. How much time do you spend on doing the tech stuff yourself
2. Which business growing activities could you spend THAT time on doing?
3. Do you really like doing tech stuff?
How many hours do you spend on your tech tasks per week, Adrienne?
Tor
Brandon Yanofsky says
Hey Adrienne
I’m like you. But it did take me a while to learn how to develop in WordPress. Which is what took me to where I am today.
But back when I started my first business (a clothing business) I did waste a lot of time on tech stuff that I should have spent building my business.
But glad you are successful with your process!!
Andrea Beltrami says
Brandon and WP Radius are da BOMB, I can’t even tell you how much time they’ve saved my clients!
Thanks a whole shit tonnery for the link back love, Tor! Here’s one of those BIG ass high fives coming at ya…
Tor Refsland says
Nice to see you here, Dre.

– create great products
– get new awesome clients

Brent Jones says
Hi Tor,
What an interesting product to promote. I suppose it’s right up your alley with promoting time management hacks, isn’t it?
Thanks so much for the link back to my blog… I’m curious, though. What makes you think I outsource my tech? Tech is actually one of the few things I make sure to do myself as often as possible… as I learn new skills, it opens up the potential for me to offer new potential services to clients.
Eventually I may choose to let it go, but for now, I want to learn as much as I can.
Outsourcing does become a necessary part of scaling any web-based business, though. It just has to happen. My best advice to new solopreneurs is to avoid doing it too soon, though.
Be as thrifty as you can and pinch every penny in the early days for as long as possible until you absolutely have to outsource in order to grow.
I think too many people outsource or hire help too soon and…
a) Don’t have a firm grasp of their own business yet, so it ends up that the blind are leading the blind
b) Erode their profit to the point that they’re still working 24-7 monitoring all their help and making $0 in the process
But that’s just my two cents.
I’ll actually be writing a guest post for Adam Connell (Purcus) on this very topic next month.
Nice to see you so passionate about promoting this product, Tor. Keep it up!
Brent
Tor Refsland says
Hey Brent,
thanks for commenting, and I really appreciate your two cents 🙂
I thought that you were outsourcing your tech, so you could focus on higher income generating tasks. However, if you use exploring and learning tech in order to come up with new services for your clients, I understand.
I agree that you should never outsource for the sake of outsourcing, and yes, you should have a clear grasp of your business and what your income generating tasks are.
If a person has no income, and he / she doesn´t know how to generate more income, clearly outsourcing won´t optimize his / her business.
On the other hand, if you know what you are doing and you know how to generate more income, you should free up more time and focus on the tasks that you are the best at doing and that brings in the most money for your business.
In my case outsourcing tech stuff to WP Radius saves me a ton of time.
What do I do with my extra time?
I spend this time to get new clients, network with influencers, grow my email list and create my digital products.
Last month I signed up 3 x $500 per month clients, so it´s a no-brainer in my situation.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Brent.
I really appreciate it.
Tor
Brandon Yanofsky says
Hi Brent
Awesome point.
I do agree with you, to some extent.
For instance, if you are working a day job, and blogging on the side, you may not have time to run tech.
But it is always different for every person for sure.
Gerald says
Thanks Tor,
When I first started blogging, I started on the blogger platform. I got some expert advice. Spent hours trying to learn code and how to make my site look good. I wanted be proud of what I was showing the world.
When I resigned myself and let go of that part, I was set free. Free to do what I loved. I like technology. I understand some of it. But I love cycling. That is how I want to spend my message to the world.
Great advice.
Tor Refsland says
Hey Gerald,
thanks a lot for commenting.
Your story sounds very similar to mine 😉
I also wanted to impress people by learning HTML code and Javascript code and to proudly show it off.
But guess what?
No one was impressed and it took way too much time to learn it.
Because, if you are going to learn it and do it yourself, the work needs to be awesome.
No need to say “Hey, look, I just learned HTML code and I know my author box looks like something my cat put together…but it´s good that I´m learning, right?”
Heck no.
If tech stuff on your site sucks, people don´t care about who´s responsible or the background story. They just shake their head and leaves your site.
Have a great day, man!
Tor
Brandon Yanofsky says
Hi Gerald
I agree with you. I’m like you and love learning tech.
Some people though hate tech. 🙂

I would like to add on from my personal experience that leveraging and delegating tasks makes life really smooth.. As professionals, at times we try to do everything on our own, which makes our plate more than full and also reduces the efficiency. It’s a good practice to train the team and also start trusting them 🙂
